About Skriften.dk

Skriften.dk is an independent website for everyone who wants to study the Bible. Here you can examine what the Bible teaches without religious traditions and creeds.

Skriften.dk

The website is free from sectarianism and does not support any religion, church, denomination, or sect. It is not bound by ecclesiastical or human creeds, but only by the truth as it is revealed in Scripture, the Word of God.

The website is independent of personal and sectarian interests. Its purpose is to help serious Bible students understand what the Bible teaches.

There is no hidden agenda, and readers are not directed toward any particular religion or denomination.

The website is currently under development, and new articles will be added on an ongoing basis.

Doctrinal Basis

The articles on Skriften.dk are based on a careful study of the Bible, carried out with a sincere desire to understand what God has revealed.

The biblical teachings presented on Skriften.dk should be accepted only if they are consistent with Scripture. If readers find that anything does not agree with what is written, it should be rejected.

The purpose of the articles is to help readers examine, understand, and evaluate for themselves whether religious traditions and creeds are consistent with what the Bible teaches.

The goal is to let the biblical text speak in its own context and to present a clear understanding of its message. The intention is not to impose particular beliefs, but to encourage each reader to draw his or her own conclusions on the basis of what is written.

The apostle John urges us to “test the spirits to see whether they are from God” (1 John 4:1). We do this by means of Scripture.

The apostle Paul also urges us not to go beyond what is written. God’s Word – not human traditions – is to be our foundation.

Paul said: “Do not go beyond what is written.” (1 Corinthians 4:6)

Prejudice and Preconceptions

Many people approach God’s Word with preconceived ideas. They seek confirmation of what they have already learned through their upbringing, religious denomination, or religious instruction.

These preconceptions can create a kind of blindness that prevents people from being open to what is actually written. They can make it difficult to ask questions – and even more difficult to change one’s understanding, even when Scripture speaks clearly.

Not many examine their faith with a sincere desire to find the truth. Often, the Bible is studied either for practical reasons or to defend beliefs that have already been established.

The right approach is to let Scripture speak for itself. This requires sincerity, humility, and a willingness to be guided by what is written.

About the Editor

The editor and publisher of this website has studied religion, the Bible, the Quran, church history, and various religious denominations. For many years, he has devoted himself to identifying the fundamental teachings of Scripture, and the results of that work are reflected in the articles available on this website.

The editor is independent and, for reasons of conscience based on the clear message of Scripture, has chosen not to belong to any religion. Therefore, he is not a member of any church, religious denomination, or religious organization.

The purpose of this website is not to promote the editor as an individual. The focus is entirely on Scripture and its message.

When the focus shifts from Scripture to a person, people may begin to follow that person rather than what is written. Therefore, it is essential that faith rests on Scripture and not on human beings. As it is written: “Do not put your trust in human beings, who cannot save.” (Psalm 146:3)

The goal is for every reader to examine what the Bible teaches and draw his or her own conclusions. For this reason, every form of personal promotion is avoided. The purpose is not to gather followers, but to encourage readers to examine for themselves what is written.

Bible Translations

Scripture quotations are taken primarily from the Interlinear Bible, with occasional quotations from various English Bible translations.

The editor prefers to use an interlinear Bible in his personal study in order to gain a deeper understanding of the original text. Because translations may differ in their choice of words, it is also important to examine the Hebrew and Greek original texts, especially when studying key doctrinal subjects.

An interlinear Bible allows you to examine the Bible’s original text for yourself and see what it actually says. It presents the original text alongside a direct word-for-word translation, providing a more precise understanding of the meaning of the text.

This makes it possible to look beyond conventional translations, which may at times reflect interpretation, tradition, or doctrinal views. In this way, the text can be evaluated on the basis of Scripture itself rather than solely through the renderings of others. For this reason, an interlinear Bible is a valuable tool for anyone who wishes to study Scripture thoroughly.

If readers do not have access to an interlinear Bible, the free online editions listed below may serve as useful study tools.
